Job Summary

The GI Tech I plays a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care for patients in the GI Lab. Under the direction of a qualified physician or Licensed Practitioner, this individual assists with procedures, maintaining a safe and efficient environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre, intra, and post-procedure, the GI Tech I demonstrates effective clinical skills, utilizing time, equipment, and supplies efficiently and properly.
  • Maintains accountability for instruments, supplies, and sharps throughout the procedure.
  • Handles specimens, ensuring proper placement and labeling in conjunction with the RN caring for the patient.
  • Performs clinical actions as defined in annual competency and skills checklists, demonstrating competence in all areas of gastroenterology.
  • Works independently and as part of a team, taking instructions from supervisors, exercising problem-solving skills, and interacting with co-workers, supervisors, patients, vendors, and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • High School Graduate / GED.
