Della Infotech is seeking a skilled Medical Claims Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Claims Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the prompt payment and/or reimbursement of hospital charges.
Responsibilities
- Promptly answer inquiries from patients, co-workers, and external agencies regarding patient accounts in a kind and courteous manner.
- Advises patient or guarantor of third-party payer benefits and estimated private payer amount and collects partial payments prior to admission.
- Makes written and verbal inquiries to third-party payers, reconciles patient accounts, and makes payment arrangements to ensure that patients are free from financial burden.
- Coodinates and originates payroll deduction actions for hospital employees in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Sends itemized patient account statements per attorney request or in response to subpoena.
Requirements
- Analytical skills to research and resolve billing and insurance problems.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, co-workers, and external agencies.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production goals.
