Job Summary

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Resident Care Manager to join our team. As a key member of our care services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of care and support for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Facilitate Resident-Directed Programming: Create and implement programs that meet the assessed needs, interests, and capabilities of our residents.
  • Assess Resident Needs and Develop Individualized Service Plans: Conduct thorough assessments of each resident's needs and develop personalized service plans to ensure their physical, personal, and emotional well-being.
  • Coordinate Care Staff and Resident Orientation: Assist in the coordination of resident orientation and identification of potential changes or concerns within individualized service plans.
  • Provide Leadership and Education to Care Staff: Lead and educate care staff on best practices for caring for individuals with dementia and provide guidance on implementing resident care programs.
  • Mentor and Train Care Staff: Mentor and train care staff to provide specific care training to meet resident needs and ensure resident care programs are implemented.
  • Coordinate Schedules and Ensure Adequate Care Staff Coverage: Coordinate schedules for care staff and ensure adequate care staff coverage to meet the needs of our residents.
  • Organize and Conduct Care Staff Orientation and Training: Organize and conduct care staff orientation and training to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care to our residents.
  • Ensure Excellent Resident Care: Ensure that all care levels in the community meet the highest standards of care and support.
  • Participate in Writing Calendars and Newsletters: Participate in writing monthly calendars and/or newsletters as requested.
  • Encourage and Participate in Resident Activities: Encourage and participate in resident activities to promote their physical, personal, and emotional well-being.
  • Conduct and Participate in Care Staff Interviews and Onboarding: Conduct and participate in the interview and onboarding process with care staff.
  • Provide Input on Care Staff Performance and Coordinate Performance Reviews: Provide input on care staff performance and coordinate with the Director of Nursing for delivery of performance reviews.
  • Implement New Hire Orientation and Training for Care Staff: Implement new hire orientation and training for care staff to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care to our residents.
  • Assess and Complete Nursing Day-to-Day Duties on Scheduled Floor Nurse Shifts: Assess and complete overall nursing day-to-day duties on scheduled floor nurse shifts.
  • Promote the Physical, Personal, and Emotional Well-being of Each Resident: Promote the physical, personal, and emotional well-being of each resident and strive to maintain their maximum level of self-care and independence.
  • Understand and Follow Resident Advance Directives: Understand and follow resident advance directives and wishes.
  • Ensure Effective Communication with Resident Families: Ensure effective communication with resident families concerning residents' care, encompassing their physical, personal, and emotional well-being.
  • Work Well with Others and Take Direction from Management: Work well with others and take direction from management, as well as take initiative with the capability to engage in conflict intervention and resolution for residents, families, employees, and others as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree and 2+ Years of Experience: Associate degree and 2+ years of experience preferred OR 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • CNA or CMT Certification: CNA or CMT certification preferred.
  • CPR and BLS Certification: CPR and BLS certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Internet Browsers and Microsoft Office: Be able to demonstrate proficiency in Internet browsers (e.g., Explorer, Chrome, and Fire Fox), Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Publisher, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and any HR-related systems if applicable.
