Position Overview

The PIP Litigation Specialist plays a crucial role in overseeing arbitrations and legal actions arising from the handling of Personal Injury Protection and Extended Medical Expense Claims. This position requires adherence to state compliance standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of medical terminology and anatomy, alongside a comprehensive grasp of the regulatory landscape governing Personal Injury and Protection claims in NY/NJ, as well as familiarity with the NY/NJ Arbitration and Court Systems.

  • Conduct thorough investigations, perform detailed analyses, and negotiate settlements related to Personal Injury claims with legal representatives.
  • Identify and analyze litigation trends, proposing alternative defense strategies.
  • Prepare cases for defense by outlining mitigating factors and managing the litigation process in collaboration with both House Counsel and Outside Counsel.
  • Organize and participate in settlement conferences and projects, utilizing the PIP Evaluator Database and leveraging data analysis skills in Excel.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, computer, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks, including those with time-sensitive requirements.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution; or three to four years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.
  • Familiarity with Tableau is advantageous.
