Essential Duties:
Under the supervision of the RN Preceptor, responsibilities include:
- Engaging in the Patient Care Team's delivery of personalized, efficient care while respecting patients' spiritual and cultural backgrounds.
- Assisting with patient assessments throughout their stay and participating in discharge planning while fostering a therapeutic relationship with patients, families, and caregivers.
- Contributing to the Individualized Patient Plan of Care (IPOC).- Reporting patient status, addressing issues as necessary, and anticipating situations that may lead to adverse outcomes.
- Collaborating with the Patient Care Team, including RNs, LPNs, Nursing Assistants, Unit Clerks, and Ancillary Departments.
Maintaining confidentiality regarding all patient, hospital, and employee-related information.
- Observing, reporting, and documenting patient behavior accurately, including physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and referring issues beyond their scope of practice.
- Providing emotional support to patients and families.- Assisting with personal hygiene and daily living activities.
- Orienting patients and families to their surroundings and available resources.
- Aiding in patient treatments and diagnostic procedures as directed.
- Recording intake and output, as well as vital signs in the electronic health record system.
- Transporting patients safely and respectfully.
- Addressing questions and concerns from patients, families, and visitors in a courteous and timely manner, or referring them to the appropriate staff member.
- Supporting care team members in implementing the care plan.- Collecting specimens as directed.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; must be a senior student in good academic standing at a College or School of Nursing with a QPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Must be entering the senior year of nursing education.
CPR Certification:
Required.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficient in understanding and addressing patient age-specific needs.
- Demonstrated ability to apply technical skills and effective interpersonal communication.
