Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist/MA to join our team at Acadian Medical Center. As a Phlebotomist/MA, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, processing laboratory specimens, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sample Collection: Accurately collect blood samples from patients, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Lab Specimen Processing: Process laboratory specimens, including labeling, sorting, and storing.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient samples, including collection times and results.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all laboratory specimens are handled and processed in accordance with established quality control procedures.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and laboratory staff to ensure smooth sample collection and processing.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or certification in phlebotomy or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in phlebotomy or a related field; ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; basic computer skills and knowledge of laboratory information systems.
