Role Overview

As an Electrical Wiring Harness Technician, you will engage in hands-on activities to produce complete wiring harnesses and modify or repair existing ones. Your responsibilities will include interpreting wiring schematics, setting up harness boards, and assembling wiring harnesses using hand tools and specialized equipment to ensure functionality post-assembly. Additionally, you will maintain organization within the wiring lab and manage stock parts effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to create custom harnesses.
  • Prepare all necessary tools and materials before the start of your shift.
  • Effectively communicate any production-related concerns to the team leader.
  • Coordinate with management on work-related issues while enforcing safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Read, interpret, and work from technical drawings.
  • Create and test wiring harnesses utilizing schematics and specialized tools.
  • Diagnose and repair existing wiring harnesses to maintain production schedules.
  • Work alongside engineering and production teams to address issues and implement updates.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work and quality assurance processes.

Essential Skills:

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in fabricating wiring harnesses.
  • Proficient in reading wiring diagrams and blueprints.
  • Experience with harness boards and electrical hand tools (e.g., snips, wire strippers, soldering iron, crimpers).
  • Able to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • 1+ years of experience diagnosing electrical issues using a voltmeter.
  • Color differentiation ability is essential.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
