Role Overview:
The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for the maintenance and support of organizational computing systems, including desktops and peripheral devices. This includes tasks such as imaging, installation, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and upgrades of all hardware and equipment to ensure peak workstation performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support for computer software, operating systems, hardware, and networking components.
* Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrate effective problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
* Collaborate effectively within a team and work independently when necessary.
* Configure and image laptops and desktops using tools such as SCCM and thumb drives.
* Repair and troubleshoot various devices including laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and mobile devices.
* Address Wi-Fi and VPN connectivity issues.
* Manage time efficiently and maintain organizational skills.
* Display meticulous attention to detail.
* Deliver professional and courteous customer service.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proficient in tools such as Service Now, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
* An associate or bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field such as computer science or technical support is preferred.
* A+ certification in computer technology is advantageous.
* Previous experience in desktop and laptop support or a similar IT role is required.
