About the Role
This is a hybrid role, requiring hours in the office and virtually. You will be based in Jericho, NY, with a satellite office in Westchester, NY. You will work in a congenial, team-oriented, and professional environment with skilled support staff. Your primary responsibility will be to handle a high-volume caseload, working closely with the team to ensure the successful resolution of cases.
Responsibilities
* Handle a high-volume caseload from discovery stage through trial* Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of civil procedure, evidence, and trial procedures* Develop and implement effective case strategies* Conduct thorough research and analysis* Prepare and present written and oral arguments* Collaborate with the team to ensure the successful resolution of cases* Manage a busy time-sensitive caseload* Work independently and as part of a team* Maintain accurate and detailed records* Stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations* Participate in training and professional development opportunities
Requirements
* Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school* Active license to practice law in New York and membership in good standing with the state bar* 1-10 years of insurance defense litigation/trial experience* Experience working in a paperless environment* Strong automation/technological skills for lawsuit handling and courtroom presentation* Potential salary range: $125,625.00-$160,000.00* Potential yearly incentive pay up to 16% of base salary* Ability to work in a hybrid environment* Strong communication and interpersonal skills* Ability to work independently and as part of a team* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills* Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records* Strong attention to detail* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment* Strong organizational skills* Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively* Strong leadership skills* Ability to motivate and guide team members* Strong business acumen* Ability to make informed decisions* Strong technical skills* Ability to stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations* Strong professional development skills* Ability to participate in training and professional development opportunities
