Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal support for compliance activities related to autonomous vehicle regulations and safety standards.
  • Assist in trade compliance for US and UK import/export operations, developing relevant policies.
  • Collaborate with the Benefits team to address employee benefits for staff in the US and UK.
  • Support HR-related legal matters, ensuring compliance with employment laws in both regions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate legal risks.
  • Engage in corporate governance activities to support legal operations across the US, UK, and Japan.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts and legal documents to safeguard the company's interests.
  • Advise on corporate matters, including legal entity structures and intercompany agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel across jurisdictions, supporting the Head of U.S. and UK Legal.
  • Identify and advise on emerging legal and regulatory challenges.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external parties, including regulators and legal advisors.

Qualifications:

  • 4-7 years of relevant legal experience in a corporate legal department and a law firm.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Strong negotiation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing external legal counsel.
  • Ability to navigate multiple legal disciplines to support business objectives.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities with a focus on strategic outcomes.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to ethical practices.
