Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Medical Assisting Instructor to join our team at Indian River State College. As an Adjunct Professor of Medical Assisting, you will be responsible for instructing students in Medical Assisting theory and skills, as well as related subjects such as Anatomy & Physiology and Pathophysiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging course materials, lectures, and assessments to promote student success.
  • Evaluate student progress through examinations and observations of performance.
  • Provide individual counseling and advising to support student success.
  • Participate in department, division, and college adjunct faculty meetings.
  • Maintain an active program of professional development related to individual, professional, and institutional needs.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant.
  • A minimum of two years proven experience in a physician's office.
  • An Associate's degree in a related health field or extensive experiential work history.
  • Current knowledge and technical and computer skills relating to the class to be taught.
  • Knowledge of instructional techniques.
  • Proven ability to work well with others.
Working Conditions

This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five pounds. The ability to transport class materials to specified classrooms and communicate effectively with students is also required.
