**Job Overview**
We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to fill the position of Law Enforcement Officer - Lead Police. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for leading police officers and field training officers, as well as assisting the watch commander in supervising the patrol shift.
**Estimated Salary:** $64,478 per year, based on experience and location.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Lead police officers and field training officers in various law enforcement tasks and techniques
- Assist the watch commander in supervising the patrol shift and providing guidance to police officers
- Provide technical advice and guidance to police officers on the enforcement of laws, rules, and regulations
- Inspect the physical security of areas, evaluate situations and conditions, identify deficiencies, and recommend or take corrective actions
- Distribute and balance the workload and rotations of field training officers and police officers, ensuring work is finished by the end of the shift and performed according to department guidelines
- Assist in planning and directing watch activities for assigned areas, preparing absentee reports and watch schedules/lists
- Ensure all radio communications fall under DoD, DoN, USMC, and Federal Communication Commission rules and procedures
- Monitor calls received, ensuring an appropriate number of police vehicles are dispatched to crime/incident scenes
**Requirements and Qualifications:
- Be a U.S. citizen and pass a National Agency Check and local background check
- Be determined suitable for federal employment
- Participate in the direct deposit pay program
- Meet medical standards for police officers in DoD 6055.05M and NMCPHC-TM-OM 6260
- Maintain appearance and grooming standards per Marine Corps Orders/policies
- New employees must successfully pass E-Verify employment verification checks
- Current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level (time-in-grade)
- The Department of the Navy does not employ individuals for law enforcement officer positions who have been convicted of a crime of domestic violence on or after November 27, 2002
- Pass a sanctioned physical agility test and medical evaluation, and periodic retests as required
- Carry firearms and maintain proficiency in their use
- Pass all weapons qualification tests prior to assigned duties and responsibilities, and all re-qualifications
