Job Title: Accountant/Fiscal Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant/Fiscal Analyst to join our team at the State Treasurer's Office. As an Accountant/Fiscal Analyst, you will play a critical role in facilitating the proper recording and reporting of electronically remitted funds on SCEIS.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaison between state agency finance officers and bank representatives: Facilitate the proper recording and reporting of electronically remitted funds on SCEIS.
  • Monitor, control, and record collections: Monitor, control, and record the collection of electronically transmitted Federal Grant, Entitlement Funds, and Vendor Payments into the State Treasurer's general deposit bank accounts.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies: Research ACH's received at the state's General Deposit accounts with no corresponding SCEIS entry against it by an agency. Use appropriate state, bank, and federal resources to identify correct beneficiaries and notify accordingly.
  • Prepare journal entries and records: Prepare journal entries in SCEIS to reflect cash management bank activity. Record appropriate SCEIS documents to reflect trust fund disbursement transactions.
  • Provide backup support: Provide backup support for the Cash/Check Audit Control Desk, including assisting with auditing of cash/check workflow documents, processing returned checks, and maintaining deposit book inventory and distribution.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma and professional experience: A high school diploma and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance, or banking. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for the required work experience.
  • Ability to review and interpret financial data: Ability to review and interpret financial data, records, and reports. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of computer software packages: Extensive knowledge of various computer software packages including Microsoft Office.
