Position Overview:
Archer Daniels Midland Company is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as Barge Cleaners at our wash dock facility. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of our marine vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough cleaning of barge decks, hoppers, and covers.
- Utilize pumps and wash hoses for effective cleaning preparation.
- Conduct general upkeep and maintenance of crane barges, workshops, and surrounding areas.
- Communicate effectively using hand signals for safe crane operations.
- Assist harbor boats, mechanics, and welders as needed.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under the guidance of team leaders and managers.
- Crane operation experience is advantageous but not essential.
- Basic reading and writing skills to understand and complete various documents.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments and priorities based on operational needs.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness to work in diverse weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to and from the workplace is required.
Safety Commitment:
Demonstrated history of safe work practices and a commitment to adhering to safety policies and procedures is essential.
Physical Demands:
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent heavy lifting.
