This role involves overseeing the maintenance department to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness. You will be responsible for managing and sustaining the machinery and utility systems within a meat processing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise personnel engaged in the electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Guide the Maintenance Team in daily operations, focusing on safety, production efficiency, cost management, quality assurance, and team development.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures to maintain equipment performance standards.
- Assist in the formulation and achievement of plant safety objectives.
- Guarantee that production timelines are respected concerning maintenance and repair activities.
- Monitor external contractor operations and relay pertinent information to the facility.
- Utilize a computerized maintenance management system for documentation, analysis, and oversight of equipment management.
- Participate in mandatory corporate supervisory training sessions.
- Identify training needs for maintenance staff and coordinate suitable training programs to ensure skill retention and development.
- Recognize equipment performance issues and initiate improvement strategies.
- Recommend optimal spare parts inventory levels.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all maintenance areas, including shops and boiler rooms.
- Possess the ability to interpret business publications, technical procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Demonstrate proficiency in report writing and business correspondence.
- Effectively present information and respond to inquiries.
- Exhibit mathematical skills necessary for calculations involving discounts, interest, and proportions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Directly oversee the operation of waste treatment systems.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and legal standards.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent experience and training will also be considered.
Additional Duties:
- Oversee the daily operation of ammonia systems.
- Manage budgets related to safety and waste treatment to meet financial goals.
- Engage in safety audits and participate in safety meetings.
