Award-winning Fred Meyer Jewelers is seeking an exceptional Freelance Jewelry Artisan to join our team in Portland, Oregon. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary of $55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience. As a key member of our jewelry team, you will be responsible for processing merchandise to and from stores and vendors, demonstrating our core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Model "Customer 1st" behavior, delivering and encouraging other associates to deliver exceptional customer service
- Distribute merchandise to stores via the jewelry system
- Tag jewelry merchandise
- Process merchandise returns from stores to vendors
- Prepare/receive merchandise shipments
- Process receivables, verifying item, quantity, and cost against purchase orders and invoices
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma/GED and two to three years of jewelry experience, or a combination of relevant education and experience. You must be at least 18 years old, pass a drug test, and have a valid driver's license. Additionally, you should have accuracy/attention to detail, the ability to organize/prioritize tasks, and familiarity with jewelry terms and processes.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
- Jewelry sales, receiving, and/or accounting experience
- 40 WPM typing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
- Ability to operate a tagging machine and jewelry system software
