The Department of Defense is seeking a qualified individual to provide comprehensive psychiatric services. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering a range of mental health services, including inpatient care, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, routine outpatient services, and consultation liaison services.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and diagnose patients to formulate effective treatment plans.
- Provide ongoing care for individuals with chronic mental health conditions and acute psychiatric disorders.
- Identify treatment needs and ensure safe therapeutic outcomes for patients.
- Document case summaries and prepare necessary correspondence.
Applicants must be aware that this position requires a thorough background investigation and may involve a suitability determination. A Personnel Security Investigation is mandatory.
Selected candidates will need to consent to seasonal influenza vaccinations or provide a recognized exemption. This role is classified as a Testing Designated Position, necessitating pre-employment screening and random drug testing.
Qualifications:To be eligible for this position, candidates must be U.S. Citizens and meet specific educational and experiential criteria. Relevant experience includes both paid and volunteer work, which will be credited towards qualifications.
Basic Requirements:Candidates must possess a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited institution. This degree must meet the standards set by recognized accrediting bodies.
Licensure as a Physician in a U.S. jurisdiction is required.
Graduate Training:Applicants must have completed at least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as an internship or the first year of a residency program.
Residency Training:Successful completion of an accredited residency in Psychiatry is mandatory, along with equivalent experience totaling at least four years.
Salary Information:Salary will be determined based on a tier scale that considers specialty, grade, and location.
Additional Information:Applicants should be prepared to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship and may be subject to a one-year trial or probationary period. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
