Job Summary

This position is responsible for formulating and defining systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new systems or use existing systems in new ways to accomplish business objectives.
  • Analyze business partners' operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes, functions, and systems.
  • Assess available technologies to create development specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures that are cost-effective and meet user requirements.
  • Consult with management and users to determine the needs of the system.
  • Design a system to meet business goals.
  • Specify inputs and formatting outputs to meet users' needs.
  • Oversee implementation, coordinating tests and observing initiation of the system to validate performance.
  • Look for opportunities to improve internal processes and implement measures to control risks within the business applications framework.
  • Perform both programming and analysis tasks on business systems.
  • Negotiate agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business units from initial requirements to final implementation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess cost/benefit, efficiency, and technical viability of solutions to business problems.
Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a collaborative and dynamic team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to quickly identify business problems/opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
  • Knowledge of software applications such as Word, Excel, etc.
  • Knowledge of applicable systems.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Business Systems or IT-related experience - 2 years.
