The County of Yolo is seeking a highly skilled Veterinarian to join our Animal Services team. As a key member of our shelter medicine team, you will provide high-quality medical care to impounded animals, supervise and train staff, and develop and implement shelter medicine protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care to animals, including vaccinations, surgeries, and diagnostic testing
  • Supervise and train Registered Veterinary Technician staff and other shelter staff
  • Develop and implement shelter medicine protocols to ensure the health and well-being of animals in our care
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless animal care and management
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited college or university
  • One year of experience in a clinical setting, private practice, or shelter environment
  • Valid California license to practice as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
