About the Role:

This senior engineering position is a software engineering role that integrates and implements custom business logic for our most critical systems using a cloud-based workflow engine.

The role will give you the opportunity to continue your professional development and enable you to make impactful contributions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

In this role, you will work as a core contributor on an agile DevOps team that solves large-scale problems using the latest cloud technologies.

You will actively contribute in every part of the development lifecycle, from design and development to CI/CD and delivery.

As wholly owned subsidiaries of Chick-fil-A, Inc., Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods are food production and distribution services networks focused entirely on serving the unique needs and growing volume of Chick-fil-A restaurants.

The Chick-fil-A Supply and Bay Center Foods service networks are comprised of three components:

Distribution Center: State-of-the-art warehouses that house supply for Chick-fil-A restaurants

Production Distribution Center: Offsite facilities that prepare select ingredients and menu items for Chick-fil-A restaurants

Transportation: Growing fleet of delivery vehicles that supply Chick-fil-A restaurants

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, deliver, and operate complex cloud-based (AWS) software solutions
  2. Design, develop, and deliver solutions using Python and Kubernetes in an AWS environment
  3. Implement AWS Cloud-based microservices in a highly transactional system that is available 24/7
  4. Leverage agile project management tools and methods to impact the team through system enhancements with a focus on small, frequent releases and continuous improvement
  5. Develop relationships within IT and the business to help with understanding, influencing, and estimating requirements
  6. Identify and propose emerging software engineering technologies, methodologies, and/or approaches
  7. Drive Engineering and Operational excellence

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 5+ years of programming experience in Python
  2. Broad experience developing solutions on AWS (IAM, EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.)
  3. Experience developing microservices
  4. Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
  5. 5+ years working in an agile environment
  6. An insatiable desire to learn new technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. A deep understanding of security best practices in the cloud and experience implementing them
  2. Experience with CI/CD, agile, or similar software development practices
  3. Understanding of SRE concepts

Travel Requirements: 10%
