Yard Rigger

The Yard Rigger plays a crucial role in the day-to-day production process at Wells Concrete. This position assists the crane operator in the movement of panels, hardware, production beds, and other materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Signal the crane operator during panel lifting and placement
• Use rigging devices for the transportation, storage, and shipping of precast panels
• Hook and unhook lifting cables, ring clutches, and spreader bars
• Guide the crane and maintain constant communication with the crane operator via two-way radio
• Place dunnage for storing panels in racks or trailers for shipping to customers

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to work as part of a team and possess good communication skills
• Must remain alert to surroundings at all times
• Constant and continual standing and walking to and from all parts of the 60-acre worksite
• Maintain good housekeeping and follow safety policies and procedures
• Ability to climb ladders, man-lifts, and scaffolding and work from heights

Working Conditions:

This is an indoor/outdoor work environment with exposure to sun, heat, humidity, cold, wind, light rain, sand, and dust.
