We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Evidence Technician to join our team at the City of Pasadena. As an Evidence Technician, you will be responsible for the daily intake of evidence, including receiving and logging property and evidence into the property room, as well as preparing evidence for transport and submission to the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and log property and evidence into the property room
  • Prepare evidence for transport and submission to the laboratory
  • Maintain tickler files for proper return, release, and/or disposal of evidence
  • Determine when property and evidence can be released and/or disposed of
  • Create disposal letters for the courts
  • Perform other duties assigned by management
Requirements
  • High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent
  • Valid drivers license (Texas upon hire)
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, hearing, pushing, pulling, and lifting and carrying weights as shown in the work classification
  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must obtain certification through the Texas Association of Property and Evidence Inventory Technician within one (1) year of employment
  • Must obtain certification through the International Association of Property and Evidence Technician within three (3) years of employment

  • The City offers college tuition reimbursement of up to $3,500 per year.
  • As an employee, you will contribute a portion of your salary each pay-period towards your retirement and the City will match your contribution by 200%.
  • Civilian employees accumulate vacation at the following rates:
  • Less than 6 years of service - two weeks of vacation per year.
  • From 6 to less than 11 years of service - three weeks of vacation per year.
  • From 11 to less than 21 years of service - four weeks of vacation per year.
  • From 21 to less than 26 years of service - five weeks of vacation per year.
  • From 26 years of service and up - six weeks of vacation per year.
