Advanced Practice Provider PRN

The Opportunity:This Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position is a PRN role providing coverage for admission H&Ps and medical management of patients admitted to all metro locations. The position requires a comprehensive knowledge base of common Internal Medicine disease processes seen in the acute hospital environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate basic science and up to date clinical knowledge, independently round on assigned patient panel, and communicate effectively with other team members and patients. The APP will gather objective and subjective data to develop differential diagnosis, assessment, and a plan of care. The position requires accurate physical assessment, interpretation of diagnostic and radiologic studies, labs, and review of consultative recommendations. The APP will place appropriate orders and consultations, utilize prescriptive authority in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations, and perform ongoing assessment of patient response to plan of care. The ideal candidate will accurately document progress notes, discharge summaries, and H&P in a timely manner, with appropriate billing. The position requires effective communication using appropriate terminology, format, and technology in accordance with health system policies. The APP will be responsible for pager call during initiative and have flexibility with scheduled rotations/locations as needed to ensure patient needs are met. The ideal candidate will be able to respond and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions, display positive leadership skills amongst the multi-disciplinary team, and acquire new knowledge quickly and efficiently. The APP will hold and maintain a national certification and licensure as required by State Boards and Saint Luke's Health System, as well as other certification as obligatory for this role.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider, a Master's Degree, and Basic Life Support certification. The position requires a comprehensive knowledge base of common Internal Medicine disease processes seen in the acute hospital environment.
