Data Analyst for Population Health

Job Summary:

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst for Population Health to support the successful execution of project implementations that involve data interchanges between systems and external data sources. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, healthcare, and population health improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Furnish routine and ad hoc data analysis and reporting to support population health improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate and analyze data feeding for accuracy and consult with other employees and vendors/payers as needed.
• Coordinate and analyze data outputs for accuracy and quality.
• Make recommendations to leadership on opportunities for improvement of data quality.
• Implement change efforts related to data quality as directed by leadership by interacting with subject matter experts supporting the various data sources (EMRs, payers, and vendors).
• Research best practices for data structure, reporting, and analytics involving health and social care integration.
• Consult with leadership regarding project priorities, timelines, and assignments.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of applications, systems, and programs.
• Manually, automated when possible, aggregate and standardize data from disparate data systems as needed to support data analysis and reporting that must be done outside of existing systems.
• Build new reports needed for grant reporting.
• Maintain confidentiality of information obtained from database and hospital sources.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
• At least two years of healthcare or data analytics experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in database applications, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of SQL or other query language applications.
• Working knowledge of EMR Systems and their data structure.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
• Formal education in programming languages (SQL, etc.) desired.
• Formal training or hands-on experience in EPIC Clarity desired.

Work Environment:

This is not a remote position. The ideal candidate will be based in the office and will work closely with the team to support the successful execution of project implementations.
