Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to join our team at the University of Miami. As an HVAC Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining work areas and equipment rooms in a clean and safe condition at all times. You will receive and respond to requests for repair work, keep daily logs of work performed and pending, and clean, maintain, and paint equipment and machinery to prevent deterioration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains work areas and equipment rooms in a clean and safe condition at all times.
  • Receives and responds to requests for repair work.
  • Keeps daily logs of work performed and pending.
  • Cleans, maintains, and paints equipment and machinery to prevent deterioration.
  • Repairs plumbing and leaky equipment on roofs and ceilings.
  • Advises appropriate managing staff of risk factors and repair needs beyond the mechanic's ability.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records of equipment and facility preventative maintenance.
  • Tests and evaluates equipment performance using appropriate tools.
  • Inspects air conditioning and heating systems, and performs general maintenance of work systems.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
