Job Summary

George Junior Republic is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapist to join our team. As a Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, home-based and community-based services to families involved with the Department of Child Services and/or Juvenile Probation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Confidentiality and Record-Keeping: Ensure all case records, correspondence, and conversations regarding clients remain confidential as required by HIPAA compliance regulations.
  • Client Intake and Assessment: Complete releases and GJR intake forms upon initial contact with client/placement/other parties, ensuring copies are saved in the clinical record.
  • Service Delivery: Provide home-based services to clients in compliance with Service Standards published by the Indiana Department of Child Services for the service that they are providing.
  • Communication and Documentation: Communicate initial client contact or lack thereof to referral source and Compliance Coordinator within 48 hours, and document client contacts through up-to-date case notes maintained in Case Management Pro (electronic database), VPN client files, and Kid Traks (if applicable).
  • Progress Reports and Treatment Plans: Provide monthly Progress Reports by due date to supervisor to referring agencies and Kid Traks (if applicable), as well as any other specific written or verbal information requested by referring agencies. Provide Treatment Plans, Safety Plans, and other required clinical documents/resources/tools within 7-30 days of referral to referral agencies.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Oversee completion of program required assessments, including but not limited to, UCLA PTSD, NCFAS, IARCA packets upon admission, discharge, three-month, and six-month follow-up.
  • Time Management and Record-Keeping: Record all billable/direct and non-billable/indirect time on a daily basis, utilizing the established database, while ensuring an accurate timesheet is maintained.
  • File Maintenance: Maintain client files, ensuring all required documents are in place, adhering to the GJR in Indiana file checklist for each respective service being rendered. Submit and correct file audit identified issues within 7 days of receiving feedback from audits.
Requirements
  • Education: Therapists must meet one of the following minimum qualifications: Master's or doctorate degree with a current license issued by the Indiana Behavioral Health and Human Services Licensing Board as one of the following: Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, or Mental Health Counselor Associate.
  • Licensure: License is required within 90 days of employment. In order to obtain a temporary license, the individual must first register for the licensure exam and may have additional requirements for temporary licensure. Please contact the Indiana Professional Licensing Board for additional instructions for obtaining a temporary license.
  • Years of Experience: Dependent on degree and position.
  • Computer Experience: Microsoft Applications and excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as well-organized.
