About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for creating an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana their choice for gaming entertainment.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Oversight of food purchasing, staffing, food preparation, and food inventory
  • Monitoring and evaluating food preparation by observing cooking techniques and tasting results
  • Maintaining department objectives, standards, guidelines, and budget
  • Coordinating with front-of-the-house staff to ensure effective coordination of service
  • Assisting in developing menu changes to ensure variety and food quality

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 8 years progressive food preparation experience, or completion of a culinary arts degree or accredited apprenticeship with 4 years of progressive food preparation experience and at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity
  • Ability to work holidays and weekends, as well as flexible shifts
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, budgeting experience, and full understanding of financials
  • Presentation of an image of excitement, enthusiasm, and outgoing personality, while being able to project a professional appearance
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • Familiarity with pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations

Salary Range

$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience
