Substance Abuse Counselor Job Description

At BayMark Health Services, we are committed to providing high-quality patient care in a comfortable outpatient clinic setting. Our ultimate goal is to address the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of opioid use disorder to help each of our patients achieve long-term recovery and an improved quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to assist patients in managing crisis and developing coping strategies.
  • Coordinate patient care and present patient status and concerns with the treatment team.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans according to State regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clinical services, patient care, and education on opiate addiction counseling.
  • Excellent documentation and computer skills are required.
  • Other related duties as determined by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in a Human Service field.
  • Preferred License: LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAC, CADCII, or ACITII.
  • Must be credentialed in addictions counseling by a nationally recognized credentialing body approved by the division.
  • MAT Certification.
  • Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
