Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Stantec. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for evaluating, selecting, specifying, and designing electrical power and lighting systems or products for various projects. Your expertise will ensure compliance with applicable codes and internal engineering standards/practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend meetings with clients, authorities having jurisdiction, and utility companies to coordinate projects.
  • Prepare complete deliverables and documents, including calculations, drawings, and specifications, with minor supervision.
  • Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects.
  • Handle multiple complex assignments simultaneously.
  • Manage or take on the technical lead role for lighting and electrical projects.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Design experience in lighting design, energy code compliance, lighting/power circuiting design, renewable energy, emergency power systems, communications systems, fire alarm systems, intelligent transportation system, construction cost estimating, and specification writing.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry.
  • Thorough knowledge and interpretation of code compliance requirements and industry standards.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of general transportation, buildings, community development, or power construction.
  • Previous experience working with various transportation authorities, such as NJTA, NJDOT, NYCDOT, NYSDOT, or the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microstation, AGI32, Visual Lighting Software.
  • LC is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills.
Education and Experience

You will need:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related industry experience.
  • PE license required, NY or NJ preferred.
