Job Summary

Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations and procedures
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and handling patient inquiries
  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality
  • Educate patients about procedures, medications, and special diets under supervision of healthcare providers
  • Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow HIPAA regulations
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure efficient patient care delivery
Requirements
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
  • One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if not a graduate of a medical assistant program
  • Previous experience using personal computers and various software applications, including Microsoft Office and email
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of previous experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
  • Previous experience in an academic healthcare environment
