About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Automation Technician to join our Maintenance Team at Alcon's Fort Worth, Texas facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the repair, adjustment, and ongoing maintenance of our facilities' equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues with our equipment, ensuring efficient corrective maintenance and minimal downtime.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) protocols to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
  • Identify and implement mechanical and electrical improvements to enhance quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness, adhering to cGMP and SOP guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Production to analyze equipment reliability issues, provide regular feedback on equipment status, and estimate repair times.
  • Operate maintenance hand and power tools, as well as test equipment, safely and effectively.
  • Perform technical setup of equipment for daily operation, adhering to SOPs for assigned work areas.
  • Maintain aseptic personnel certification and practice good aseptic techniques in the performance of duties.
  • Support plant engineers in new equipment startups and engineering changes.
  • Assist in training new coworkers and share knowledge and experience to develop the team's overall capability.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Fluent English language skills (reading, writing, understanding, and communication)
  • 4 years of relevant experience
  • Work hours: 6pm to 6am, 4 days on shift/4 days off shift
  • Travel Requirements: 0 to 10%

Preferred Experience
  • Industrial maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Manufacturing electro-mechanic experience
  • Abilities in electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Experience repairing various types of machinery
  • Basic troubleshooting skills, including breakdown steps to troubleshoot errors
  • Manufacturing automation equipment experience, including high-volume/high-speed equipment
  • General automation knowledge, including PLCs, photo eyes, VFDs, etc.
  • Filling and carton experience
