Optometric Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team at VSP Vision. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting our Optometrists with eye examinations and patient eye care.

• Prepare patients for examinations by gathering information about their vision and medical history, explaining the exam process, and documenting all necessary information in the patient's record.
• Assist with conducting pre-testing or special testing, and administer tests to determine the visual capabilities of the patient in preparation for the vision examination.
• Perform contact lens insertion, educate and train patients on contact lens insertion and removal, and order contact lenses of various types of materials and designs.
• Administer topical ophthalmic and dilation medications, and scribe for the doctor as needed.
• Prioritize patient care and patient flow while communicating effectively with doctors, staff, and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

• One to two years of experience in a related field.
• Working knowledge of MS Office package.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.

The working environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature. This role requires the ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
