Position Overview

Location: Mundelein, IL

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Role Summary: This role is essential in supporting all production activities to enhance output and reduce waste while upholding superior quality and safety standards. You will assist in the production of high-quality products in alignment with customer specifications as outlined by the production schedule. This position requires gaining a comprehensive understanding of the technical knowledge necessary for the manufacturing process and continuously improving skills and productivity through collaboration. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The Production Planning Team Leader will oversee and schedule production activities to meet operational needs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively address product quality, process, and machinery concerns.
  • Assist in the upkeep of machinery and related equipment.
  • Perform various functions including operating machinery, inspecting products, maintaining cleanliness, and fulfilling quality testing requirements.
  • Ensure effective communication within the team to keep colleagues informed about shift activities and anticipate potential issues during shift changes.
  • Set up and operate production lines to meet product specifications.
  • Document machine and process conditions accurately.
  • Conduct and record quality checks.
  • Manage production schedules and material orders to align with customer demands.
  • Collaborate with logistics to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
Qualifications:

Knowledge & Experience:
  • Technical and mechanical understanding of production machinery.
  • Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED; an Associate's Degree or industrial certification is a plus.
Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of performing physical tasks including bending and twisting.
  • Must be alert to safety hazards and respond quickly to signals.
Work Environment:

This role involves working near moving mechanical parts and may require the use of personal protective equipment.
