Forensic Scientist V Job Description

Cherokee Nation Integrated Health (CNIH) is seeking an experienced Forensic Scientist V to support a Federal program in Dover, DE. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing analysis of forensic evidence in accordance with laboratory accreditation and standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform analysis of forensic evidence in accordance with laboratory accreditation and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, management, and Government stakeholders to ensure successful laboratory operation.
  • Prioritize job responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on exceptional duty results and excellent customer service.
  • May serve as an Assistant Technical leader and/or expert witness.
  • Shall be knowledgeable in a relevant field of the life sciences and have experience working in a research laboratory.
  • Shall be a recognized expert in their area of expertise, as demonstrated by their publication record or industry experience.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and 10 years of related experience is required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience supporting and leading teams of large-scale projects.
  • Preferred experience with projects supporting forensic toxicology, medico-legal death investigations, and/or forensic DNA analytical services.
  • Preferred experience in DoD forensic program support.
