Job Overview

Gwinnett County Public Schools, a leading school system in Georgia, seeks an experienced Automotive Technician to join its Transportation and Fleet Maintenance department. This role is responsible for performing Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A.) mandated inspections on a large school bus fleet.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance services and repairs for the department of Transportation and Fleet Maintenance.
  • Conduct overnight inspections on district school buses according to local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Prepare work order and inspection documentation as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Automotive/diesel service technician training at an accredited technical school preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • School Passenger and School (P&S) Bus endorsements required within six months of hire.
Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year
