Job Overview

Position Title: CNC Plasma Technician
Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled CNC Plasma Technician to join our team. This role requires physical engagement and is not limited to operating machinery in a stationary manner. Candidates should possess experience in plasma operations, ideally from a metal fabrication background, as experience with sheet metal differs significantly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC machinery to assess machine settings and material needs, including tasks such as drilling, milling, tapping, countersinking, plasma cutting, oxy-fuel cutting, beveling, stamping, and punching.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools to verify the dimensions of completed steel structures, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Modify machine feed rates and speeds, change cutting tools, and adjust machine controls as necessary.
  • Manually lift workpieces to machines or utilize cranes and forklifts for assistance.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment, inspecting components with tools such as tape measures, scales, and calipers.
  • Perform secondary operations, including cleaning and deburring, to maintain quality and organization in the workspace.
  • Document any variances in machinery operations from standard settings and outcomes.
