Welder I

Aqua-Chem is a global provider of economically efficient and sustainably engineered solutions for purified water. We are seeking a skilled Welder, Level I to join our team in Knoxville, TN.

The Welder, Level I will be responsible for welding and assembling components and subassemblies in accordance with company standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and excellent communication skills.

• Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned space
• Comprehend and follow ISO procedures to ensure compliance with standards
• Move materials and/or finished products to facilitate proper flow
• Demonstrate ability to meet production standards on specific assignments within required time
• Perform rigging, lifting, and moving of product using cranes, forklifts, metal carts, etc.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement program
• Ability to read basic weldment drawings under the supervision of a more experienced welder
• Perform other duties as required by Supervisor or Manager

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of (1) one year welding in a manufacturing and/or similar environment and/or Combination Welder Diploma
• MIG and/or TIG experience
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must be able to work up to 12 hours standing and walking on cement surfaces and will be required to regularly bend, stretch, stoop, squat, climb ladders, and climb stairs
• Must be able to work in temperature ranges corresponding to the outside ambient temperatures
• Basic shop math and measurement skills
• Basic reading and interpretation of blueprints/drawings
• Able to work overtime as required
