About the Job: Waste Pro is seeking a skilled Garbage Collector Associate to join our team. This role is responsible for collecting and disposing of waste, ensuring customer satisfaction, and adhering to safety policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick up solid waste and place it in the back of a rear load garbage truck on specified routes.
- Provide excellent customer service by being courteous, expeditious, and responsive to resident needs.
- Ensure that garbage and recyclables are picked up and transferred properly from residences.
- Address resident inquiries and direct them to contact Customer Service or relevant government offices for additional information.
- Maintain compliance with all ANSI, OSHA, and company safety policies.
- Assist the driver in safely backing up the truck by guiding them from the ground.
- Clean behind the compactor blade with a shovel and hoe when directed.
- Report any safety or customer service-related issues to the driver and supervisor immediately.
- Perform manual duties in cleaning up scattered refuse.
- May be required to work during emergency situations.
- Assist other routes as needed to complete daily tasks.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Able to follow safe operating practices.
- Capable of learning and utilizing interpersonal skills related to good customer service.
- Willing to work in a team environment.
- Able to read, write, and comprehend reports well enough to complete daily assignments.
Salary Information: The estimated salary for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and location. This figure is based on industry standards and national averages.
Work Environment: As a Garbage Collector Associate, you will work in a variety of environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, noise, vibrations, fumes, odors, and dust.
