The Department of Physics is seeking applications for Adjunct Physics Educators for the upcoming academic terms. These positions are filled on a semester-by-semester basis to instruct physics courses.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching both introductory and advanced courses offered by the Department of Physics.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
delivering in-person and/or online lectures, participating in training and review sessions.
Additional responsibilities may encompass academic advising for students, assisting student organizations, and engaging in program development and evaluation.
The selected candidate will be expected to collaborate effectively with faculty and staff within the department and the university.Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The mission of the Department of Physics is to deliver a premier educational experience and research training.
Our faculty provide a comprehensive interdisciplinary perspective, preparing students for diverse career paths in both traditional and interdisciplinary fields.
The department boasts expertise across various sub-disciplines, addressing all aspects of contemporary research in Physics, Atmospheric Sciences, and Meteorology.
Faculty members conduct research in areas such as Astronomy, Atmospheric Science and Meteorology, Biological Physics, Material Science, Nuclear Physics, Space Sciences, and Physics Education Research, offering opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess a Master's degree in Physics or a closely related field, along with a minimum of 18 credit hours of graduate coursework.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Candidates with 1-3 years of teaching experience at the university or community college level are preferred for lecture courses.
