About the Position

Miami Dade College is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Faculty, Microbiology. As a member of our faculty, you will play a critical role in shaping the minds of our students and contributing to the college's mission of providing high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Instruction: Teach lecture and laboratory sections, evaluating students and providing career and academic advising.
  • Course Development: Plan and organize instructional materials to meet course objectives, developing and teaching online courses.
  • Student Recruitment and Advising: Recruit, advise, and evaluate students, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Grant Writing: Prepare and write grants for the School of Engineering and Technology, securing funding for innovative projects.
  • Departmental Involvement: Participate in departmental, campus, and college-wide programs, activities, and committees, serving as a resource person for adjunct faculty.
  • Flexibility: Teach day, evening, and weekend classes as needed, demonstrating a commitment to student success.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's degree in Microbiology (MCB) or a related field, with 9 graduate semester hours in Microbiology (MCB) or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Microbiology (MCB).
  • Certifications and Experience: Familiarity with collaborative learning techniques and student-centered methods of instruction, ability to function well in a technological environment, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Additional Requirements: Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community, demonstrated effective use of active learning techniques, and previous curriculum development and recruitment experience.
