About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Manager to join our Customs team at Kuehne+Nagel. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Imports Department.

Your Responsibilities
  • Manage the scheduling of team members to ensure efficient resource utilization, minimizing overtime and addressing bottlenecks.
  • Perform audit reviews on all assigned brokerage files and payments to customs, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of customs compliance documentation, including ACON New - Billing / unbilled tracking and queue monitoring.
  • Process documents through the Company's ABI system, obtaining Customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate.
  • Responsible for PSC filing and addressing file compliance concerns, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Review and monitor all Customs rejections, requests for information, and other correspondence, identifying material on longer than normal customs holds or files that need deletion.
  • Implement new account processes and improve existing ones, ensuring data flow and productivity.
  • Immediately report problems, operation disputes, or discrepancies to the manager, operation manager, or branch manager, providing root analysis and possible resolutions.
  • Resolve Accounting Tickets or Disputes related to accounts handled by the team, including Missed Billing, NO Record of Invoices, etc.
Your Skills and Experience
  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • 5 years' Entry Writer experience
  • 5 years' people management experience with 5+ direct reports
  • Basic knowledge of INCO terms, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Customs regulations, and other government agency requirements
  • Ability to work in an office environment 5 days per week
