Job Overview

Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience in childcare or customer service. A valid driver's license is required. Candidates should demonstrate basic proficiency in computer software applications. A positive, creative, and engaging attitude towards learning is essential. Certification in child and infant CPR and Basic First Aid is mandatory. Compliance with Park Board employment and physical standards, including background checks and drug screenings, is required. Experience and training should reflect the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to fulfill the outlined responsibilities.

COMPENSATION:

This is a part-time, hourly position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold the CWAC brand by delivering exceptional customer service to all visitors and members.
  • Foster professional relationships internally and externally in alignment with CPRST core values.
  • Oversee the opening and closing procedures for childcare facilities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children under supervision.
  • Promote good hygiene practices among children in care.
  • Change diapers for infants and toddlers as necessary, maintaining cleanliness and control.
  • Welcome parents/guardians during drop-off and verify authorized pickups.
  • Monitor and manage any allergens and medical concerns for children in care.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding any incidents or issues.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment at all times.
  • Report any conflicts or issues involving children, parents, or guardians to the Childcare Lead.
  • Ensure compliance with child-to-caregiver ratios as per industry standards.
  • Be knowledgeable about emergency procedures for medical or situational crises.
  • Assist the Childcare Lead in managing childcare supplies such as wipes, diapers, and cleaning materials.
  • Participate in all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and ethical behavior while collaborating with the Park Board, Executive Director, Administrators, Supervisors, Personnel, and the Community.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The work area is well-lit, ventilated, and climate-controlled. There may be occasions to work outdoors, exposing staff to varying weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role requires both indoor and outdoor work, necessitating the physical and mental capability to manage large groups, multitask, and operate a computer. Moderate lifting and the ability to walk, stand, bend, and sit are essential for performing various job duties.
