Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician II - Operations Specialist to join our team at Veolia Environnement SA. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mechanical equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, repair, and install mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment at plant and pump stations.
  • Troubleshooting: Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic troubleshooting to determine repairs needed, estimate time and material costs for assigned projects, and take corrective action per procedure.
  • Facility Maintenance: Perform routine and preventative maintenance, lubrication, and minor adjustments on machines and related equipment, including pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, and odor control systems.
  • Instrument Calibration: Perform routine instrument calibration for portable meters, including dissolved oxygen, pH, H2S, percent oxygen, and lower explosive limit.
  • Facility Repair: Perform manual labor, including cleaning equipment, facilities, and grounds, and properly dispose of waste according to safety and environmental policies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve operational goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school or GED with the ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Experience: Two to five years of experience in a related position in a similar environment.
  • Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, proficiency in the care and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Certifications: Minimum water/wastewater license as required by regulatory site, valid driver's license, and HAZWOPER Level I and II First Responder Certification.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical Demands: Standing 25%, walking 75% for as many as five miles per shift, requires close visual and hearing observation, and works in various positions, including heights of 50 feet above the ground.
  • Environmental Factors: Works in various environments, including outdoor and sometimes inclement weather, and may be exposed to possible operations hazards, including fumes, dust, toxic and caustic chemicals, noise, rotating machinery, high pressure, and hot and cold temperatures.
