Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bartender/Server to join our team at the Grand Traverse Resort. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, preparing and serving drinks, and maintaining a clean and welcoming bar environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drink Preparation and Service: Prepare and serve a wide range of drinks, including cocktails, beer, and wine, to our guests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Guest Service: Provide exceptional service to our guests, including taking orders, handling payments, and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Bar Maintenance: Maintain a clean and welcoming bar environment, including restocking supplies, polishing glassware, and ensuring that the bar is well-organized and well-stocked.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other members of the hospitality team to ensure that our guests receive exceptional service and that the bar is running smoothly.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; previous experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant environment preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor; ability to lift heavy trays and stand for long periods of time.
  • Certifications and Training: TIPS certification required; ability to obtain certification in a short period of time if not already certified.
Working Conditions

This position is located in a fast-paced bar environment, with occasional loud noise levels and varying temperatures. The ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.
