The Advanced Practice Nurse delivers extensive nursing care to designated patients under the supervision of a physician. Adheres to established nursing protocols, procedures, and practices, while providing guidance to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals. Assesses the results of direct patient care and collaborates with other specialists as necessary. Modifies nursing care strategies as needed to guarantee optimal patient outcomes. Coordinates patients' required diagnostic and therapeutic services. Oversees and ensures the precision of documentation in patient medical records. Offers preventive healthcare services to long-term patients and organizes consultations and referrals. Conducts physical examinations and may prescribe and recommend treatments and medications.

The Heart Institute provides the most advanced diagnostic, surgical, and rehabilitative cardiac services in one convenient location.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Nursing is mandatory.
- Experience in a specialized area is required.
- Background in both clinical and management roles is essential.
- Proven ability to solve problems and promote services. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Demonstrated commitment to customer service, teamwork, and interdepartmental collaboration based on Continuous Quality Improvement principles.
- Current Texas State Advanced Practice Nurse license is required.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association is necessary.
- NRP certification for South NICU must be obtained within 90 days of hire or transfer.
