Position Summary:
The Retail Operations Manager Trainee plays a crucial role in assisting the Store Manager with the seamless execution of store operations. This position is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager role through hands-on experience in various store functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support recruitment and staffing initiatives.
- Assist in merchandising efforts by organizing and displaying products according to company standards.
- Participate in inventory management, including the execution of markdowns and conducting stock counts.
- Ensure adherence to ordering practices to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and act as a role model for team members.
- Engage in store opening and closing procedures.
- Safeguard company funds and ensure compliance with cash handling protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment for both customers and employees.
- Operate the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Analyze store performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in a retail setting is advantageous.
- Strong mathematical skills for cash handling and inventory management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and foster a positive team environment.
Working Conditions:
This role involves frequent walking, standing, and lifting of merchandise. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced environment and occasional exposure to outdoor conditions.
