Paramedic Instructor

The Paramedic Instructor will teach credit courses within the Associate of Applied Science Paramedic Technician program at Blackhawk Technical College. This position reports directly to the Administrative Chair of Human and Emergency Services.

1. Teaching and Curriculum Development: Provide instruction for Paramedic Technician courses, engage in ongoing student learning assessment, and use data to measure program outcomes.
2. Classroom Management and Safety: Manage classrooms and oversee the lab to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
3. Student Support and Services: Maintain accurate student records, identify students needing assistance, and refer students to Student Services.
4. Curriculum Maintenance and Improvement: Develop and update or revise course and program curriculum as needed to maintain relevance.
5. Professional Development and Collaboration: Participate in staff development activities, serve on college improvement teams and committees, and collaborate with Business & Industry and Secondary Education partners.

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Paramedicine or a related field.
2. Experience: Two years (4,000 hours) of paramedic work experience, with at least one year (2,000 hours) within 5 years prior to date of appointment.
3. Certifications and Licenses: Wisconsin Certified Instructor II, Wisconsin Paramedic License, and Current NREMT Paramedic Certification.
