Job Summary

The Outpatient Care Center is a multidisciplinary, service-oriented department providing wound care and infusions. As a Staff Nurse - Ambulatory Services, you will work collaboratively with an interprofessional team to provide patient-centered care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting and assessing patient data to develop and execute care plans
  • Utilizing evidence-based practice to drive clinical decisions
  • Establishing goals and strategies for care coordination across settings
  • Delegating and supervising care in accordance with the WI Nurse Practice Act
  • Participating in continuous quality improvement initiatives

Major responsibilities of this role include:

  • Performing ACLS and independent rhythm interpretation and defibrillation
  • Administering advanced lifesaving medications
  • Conducting templated visits for patient assessment and taking action based on established protocols
  • Providing specialty patient education and sedation
  • Assisting with complex procedures and advanced wound therapy
  • Managing central lines and performing device interrogation and interpretation

Additional responsibilities may include patient care coordination, direct patient care, patient education, and performing/assisting with minor procedures. May float to other areas as needed.

Requirements

Clinical experience and/or interest in caring for patient populations specific to the area of employment is required. At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience is preferred. Nursing licensure is required, and a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA-approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
