Job Summary:
A financial operations specialist is needed to assist with the maintenance and execution of accounting standards, processes, and requirements. This role involves supporting the implementation and maintenance of agency accounting systems and software tools, including DAI, DAR-Q, DDRS, ADVANA, WAWF, G-Invoicing, IPAC, EDA, and DCAS.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with the maintenance and execution of accounting standards, processes, and requirements.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of agency accounting systems and software tools, including DAI, DAR-Q, DDRS, ADVANA, WAWF, G-Invoicing, IPAC, EDA, and DCAS.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure access to required government systems and software for task completion.
• Produce and review specified reports to ensure transactions are posted accurately, timely, and completely in relevant systems.
• Analyze and interpret accounting data to provide actionable insights.
• Perform financial reconciliations and deliver detailed reports to aid in planning, policy formulation, and performance evaluation.
• Collect, monitor, and analyze obligation/expenditure data from official records.
• Resolve 20-50 weekly problem disbursements and support quarterly research.
• Assist with accounts payable accrual processes to ensure compliance with federal accounting standards.
• Record and estimate expenses based on the accrual framework, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or a related field (required).
• 5-10 years of Department of Defense (DoD) accounting experience, with a strong understanding of DoD financial management practices.
• Proficiency with the DAI accounting system and other Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) systems, such as the Defense Departmental Reporting System-Budgetary (DDRS-B) and the Defense Departmental Reporting System (DDRS).
• Experience with the US Standard General Ledger (USSGL) and the ability to produce, analyze, and interpret reports.
• Proven expertise in identifying and resolving anomalies in accounting data and reports
• Certifications: Must hold one of the following certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)(preferred).
• Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
• Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM).
• Equivalent certification (with proof of equivalency).
