Job Overview

IntelliTec College is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our team as an Instructor. As an Automotive Technician Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering established curriculum to students in a professional and proficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver instructional content to students in a classroom setting
  • Assign and grade assignments, input attendance records, and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Ensure students are aware of safety policies and monitor for correct procedures
  • Manage classroom activity, including lecturing, student assistance, and lab instruction
  • Record student attendance, grades, and interactions in student files and on database
  • Collect outside work from students to meet ACCSC requirements
  • Attend trainings to maintain currency in the field and improve teaching strategies
  • Work closely with the Program Supervisor to manage student issues
  • Advise students on education-related issues and provide guidance
  • Setup lab area for daily instructional activities
  • Develop and implement automotive repair issues within training vehicles
  • Recognize need for and initiate student support plans, warning, and tutoring
  • Assist in maintaining quality equipment and tools for program use
  • Demonstrate auto repair for various auto repair situations
  • Maintain tool room and ensure integrity and security of tool room
  • Inspect automotive technician student workstations and toolboxes

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or completion of a certificate program in Automotive Technology or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Automotive Repair or a related field

Working Conditions:

This position requires medium work, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds while frequently lifting up to 20 pounds. Instruction requires standing for long periods of time, expressing complex topics through speech, sufficient vision to write notes for instruction, and hearing to interact with students.
